So it is nothing new, everyday in India. Many such Afreens are tortured and given painful death. Some cases don’t even come to public & media. Few comes in limelight and sometimes action is taken. So It is good to estimate that out of 1000s of such cases, very few are being prosecuted. That is another matter that how long her case will go in our tortoise like Court.
You might have noticed that when any such case comes to Media, they always highlight the story for some days, follow up until she is dead and it also gets into prime time debates. Good money maker for them. All intellectual people join the debate and utter hell lot of things. They never follow up again on the topic and just another day, they will have another debate. It should be the responsibility of Media to do regular follow ups, force government and NGOs to make concrete decisions and enforce actions. Even I might be doing the same after writing this post.
Recently Tehelka has discovered the bitter truth of thinking of law enforcement agencies which points fingers back to society, washing their hands off as normally they do. You should read that report. There is no humanism left and we are all living in selfish world.
In my view, each of such baby’s parents & those doctors (who are helping them) are more corrupt than any “Kalmadi” or “A Raja”. All governements are simply don’t want to make this as their agenda. As a community we shall not vote for such leaders.
